Other currency than EUR

Using another currency than EUR in France

Scenario

When you are sending from a French company, you might need to issue the invoice in another currency than EUR.

This can apply to:

  • invoices to customers outside France
  • Invoices to customers in France

In that case, additional information is required : the tax totals must be in the foreign currency and in EUR. In order to reach this goal

2 scenario's :

  • If you do not include in the API body the foreign currency rate, Billit will add the current foreign currency rate.
  • If you include your foreign currency rate in the API-body, Billit will use this one. This does allow you to stay in line with the amounts in your invoicing/ERP-software.

In the outgoing file, the VAT amount will be expressed in 2 currencies:

  • Total VAT amount in the currency of the invoice including details.
  • Total VAT amount in EUR (total amount only).

Example below:

  • Tab 1 : API content with foreign currency (USD).
  • Tab 2 : UBL output, the Tax totals (USD and EUR).
