How to Find a Receiver in France
## Context
French B2B companies are registered for receiving in :
- the French Annuaire (all registered companies). How to search on annuaire : see further.
- on the Peppol network (the majority of the companies registered on the Annuaire).
Billit supports the sending to the customer via the Peppol network.
## How to find a Company on Peppol - Concepts
A company can be registered with one more identifiers. The full list is found on https://docs.billit.be/docs/identifiers-france-pa.
In order to find the published identifier of the customer, possible steps are
- Search with structured data : this can be done with VAT-number and SIREN/SIRET
- If you cannot find it, a search on name of the customer could be done via https://directory.peppol.eu/public (Peppol production environment)
- For the other identifier types (Suffixe, CTC, Code Routage), you need information from the customer (direct contact, web pages, info on purchase orders)
Keep in mind that most receivers are only registered on the Peppol production environment, not the Peppol test environment.
How to find a company on Peppol via API (Participant Information)
General capabilities are explained on : https://docs.billit.be/docs/check-via-api.
Via the Billit API, the receiving capability on Peppol can be verified. Examples below for French identifiers
Importance of the CTC
CTC is the primary indicator in the Annuaire and on Peppol. It should always be included when posting invoices to Billit. For Peppol routing, CTC is the mandatory identifier.
Practical elements:
- You do not have the CTC of the customer ?
- Look it up (e.g. as Peppol is concerned, you can search on the name, Siren and other via https://directory.peppol.eu/public)
- Check info on purchase orders
- Check info on customer correspondance
- Check website pages of the customer
- If not clear, contact the customer
- Simple scenario:
- The Siren-number corresponds to the CTC. So for Peppol, this can be "0225:numéro de siren". On Peppol, use this CTC identifier.
- Customer cannot deliver a CTC ?
- Keep in mind that the customers may use other terms to it, e.g. "suffixe" or "code routage" or "adressing identifier". You can then check this with the tools.
- Customer may still be busy with registration.
- Customers have a registration on the production environment only, not the test environment.
- Customer has more than one CTC ?
- This happens a lot, e.g.
- customer has multiple invoicing physical locations
- customer has multiple logical invoices adresses (even when customer has one site)
- A part of the customers provide this information via :
- info on purchase orders
- info on customer correspondance
- website pages of the customers
- search tools, e.g. https://directory.peppol.eu/public
- This happens a lot, e.g.
Retrieve info from Annuaire
As an end-user you can check the French website (valid for production environment).
This allows you to search on :
- The Siren or Siret.
- Company name.
- Address.
